Ok... No new updates in the work department. I'm ashamed to say that I've only sent out a few resumes in total. In fact, I only sent out my first resume 2 weeks ago and went for my first interview last week. I'm supposed to know if I made it to the next round of interview by this week.
The job I interviewed for was the position of a skin care chemist. It was actually my dream job but the thing is, I'm not very sure if I want that position right now. As a fresh graduate, I would actually prefer to join some big corporations and learn things instead of just jumping in and do things. I don't think it'll be fair to the company if they really employed me and I end up not being able to help them. Oh well... we shall see... Let fate decide...
By the way, I kept complaining of being heaty and having swollen gums for the past week. Turns out I'm growing a new tooth! WTH... Can't eat hard food and I'm grumpy like hell... Not sure how long my mum can stand me. I know I should go and see a dentist but then I really HATE going to a dentist! Blamed it on the dentistry nurses in Primary schools... Due to their roughness, I've developed a phobia for letting others poke around my teeth. I get heart palpitation whenever I have to lie down on the chair and open my mouth wide for the inspection.... So damn scary!

Thanks Raven People!!!
Met up with Ian, a very good friend from UQ, a couple of days ago. He passed me the graduation gift that was made by the bunch of them, who are known as the Raven CC people. CC stands for Country Club and Raven CC is actually the place where my group of girlfriends stayed in Brisbane. That's the place I mentioned in my other blog where I always go to for dinner. The guys always go there to use the internet, watch tv, have dinner or just to chill and enjoy some feminine company. Haha... So, we decided to call the place Raven Community Centre as the place was on Raven Street. After a while, we wanted to give the place a bit more class and so, rename the place Raven Country Club and call ourselves the Raven People.

This is what they gave me. From what I know, it was originally meant to be joined together into a very long scroll. However, the project was kind of aborted due to some, erm, technical problems. Haha... So, I ended up with 9 pieces of individual A4 papers but it's ok, I felt the sincerity. I'm happy enough with what I have as I really did not expect to get anything more from them. At the airport while sending me off, they had already given me a digital photo frame that I had been eye-ing for quite some time.
After reading what they wrote for me, I started to get a bit 'emo'. I have to admit that when I came back, I didn't particularly miss the place. I do miss the Raven people but it was a bearable kind of feeling. After getting the present, I changed from missing them to become MISSING them.
I MISSED the times when I get a bit bored from sitting alone at the living-room and got pleasantly surprised (or sometimes, unpleasantly scared) when one or two of the guys dropped by without notice for a chat.
I MISSED the times queuing excitably for some ridiculously expensive bubble-tea and still thought we got a very good deal.
I MISSED eating ice-cream together after watching movies at night.
I MISSED shopping for groceries together and doing some childish antics with the shopping trolleys.
I MISSED doing nothing and just sit around, drinking and talking crap.
I MISSED staying up late and having late night chats with my dearest meimei (you know who you are).
I MISSED the sight of the production line we formed while washing up after dinner.
I even MISSED waking up early on Saturday morning to go market and have breakfast there.
Most of all, I missed you Raven People. Even though we were not as close towards the end of my stay there but I still enjoyed the times we spent together. Like my favourite Chinese saying, '天无不散宴席', all good things come to an end. Hope you all will occasionally miss me a bit while enjoying yourselves over there. Haha...

End of Telemarketeer Job
FINALLY!!! The longest 5 days of my life is finally over!
I'm really not cut out for being a telemarketeer... How can you do a job that you don't believe in? From the second day, I was already thinking of quitting but I've already agreed to commit to the job for the full 5 days required. Oh well, it's finally OVER!
Although I like to talk on the phone and most of you know that I can chat for very very long, I realised that I DO NOT like to call up people I do not know. That's why I never return any missed call with unfamiliar number.
Well, at least I've got some income for me to spend for entertainment purposes. Haha...
Thanks my dearest cutest cousin!

5 Days Telemarketeer
Surprised everyone? That's right... I'm going to be a telemarketeer starting from today (13th August 2008) till next Tuesday (19th August 2008). I know I did mention that I will NEVER ever want to be a telemarketeer but I was tempted by the short duration. It was only for 5 days and I thought it can be a challenge for me. I like challenges! Haha...
It seems like I've been doing lots of things that I had said that I'll NEVER ever do.
I remember saying that I'll NEVER ever go Orchard Road again after that day when I was stuck in a double-decker SBS bus there for more than 2 hours. Think that was back in year 2000 when there was some event being held in Orchard Road and caused some serious traffic problem. Anyway, that resolution lasted for like 1 month.
Then I remember saying that I'll NEVER ever wear shorts to Orchard Road because it was too casual. Then, last year just before I left for Australia, shorts became very IN and of course, I wore my very IN shorts to Orchard! Haha...
So, I hope I won't do anymore things which I had said that I'll NEVER ever do...

Baby Chloe
Introducing baby Chloe, daughter of my dearest cousin. And yes, she's a girl, see the pink clothes she's wearing? Heard from my cousin that strangers all thought she's a boy even though she ALWAYS wear pink. I think the only blue thing she owns is the blue baby bib I sent her all the way from Australia. Haha...
I finally get to hold baby Chloe after so long! I was in Australia when she was born so I didn't get to hold her when she was still light and soft. By the way, baby Chloe is already wearing clothes for 8 month old babies even though she's only 4 months old!
Baby Chloe is not my first niece but I've got a feeling that she might be the one I dote on the most. Although I wasn't around when she was born but I fully intend to be around when she's growing up. I volunteered to be her godmother because I was really close to her mum and I want to have more say in her life. However, things didn't really work out as there were some family objections so I'm remaining as just Aunt Regina. Actually I don't really like the sound of aunt because it sounds so distant so I'm going to get all the kids to either call me 姑姑 or 阿姨.

5th July 2008 - Melbourne Airport
My first meeting with my BFFs after a year of separation.
Actually, our reunion was nothing like what any of us had imagined. We had imagined a very emotional reunion with lots of hugs, some shrieking (you know how girls get when they are excited), and a few tears. In reality, I first saw a lone figure with a very worried face. My group of friends had actually got separated after they alight the plane and one of them, Sindy, came out much earlier than the rest. We tried to call them but their handphones were not turned on yet so we had to wait. So, instead of the anticipated teary hugs, we only felt relieved when we saw one another again.
When I saw my friends again, I didn't experience any distant feelings with them even though we had been separated for a year. In fact, I felt like I had never been separated from them at all! Before seeing them again, I was really afraid that we'll feel distant and I was really glad that there was none of that feeling.
This is Alan, Cerina's boyfriend.
I'm sure at this point, he had no idea what type of situation he had placed himself in by agreeing to come to Australia with them. Being the only guy, he had to do most of the hard work and dirty jobs, like carrying the luggage etc. Then again, I think he enjoyed himself during the trip too. I mean, who wouldn't enjoy being around us? Hahaha...
Outside Melbourne International Airport...
On the way to our backpackers in Melbourne.
As you can see, we still look quite bright and cheery in these photos. As the days progressed, some of us (namely me), started to look more and more tired.
Stay tuned for more photos taken during the trip!

Ivy's Graduation - 24th July 2008
Hey everyone! Since my own graduation photos are not complete yet, I've decided to put one of my best friends, Ivy's graduation photos here instead. Hehe...

This is Ivy Foo and she's the reason why I decided to fly home almost immediately after my own ceremony. When we knew our graduation dates, I persuaded her to come over to Aussie to attend mine before flying back together to attend hers. So glad that I managed to make it to hers!

Only Yi Ling and I were able to make it for Ivy's ceremony. The rest had to go to work as they had taken too many leaves in order to attend my graduation in Australia. So pai sey...

And of course, we were there with flowers and a small little present too. I chose the flowers with a little help from another of our group, Sindy, while Yi Ling made the present. The graduation cap and scroll on piglet was sewn on with tender loving care by Yi Ling.
